Dulcimer buying Guide Checklist
           

• Buy only dulcimer made with solid wood only.  Dulcimer made with laminated wood usually don’t sound as good
  
  
• Dulcimers made in the US are generally better.
  
  
• Choose scale length relative to your height. Anyone 5’2” or shorter should start with 26” or shorter scale length dulcimer 
  
  
• Beware of buying an older dulcimer, dulcimers made before 1975 often need work before they are playable.
