In this workshop we will create 3 Pointillism landscape paintings in acrylic. Applying small brushstrokes using bright colors we can create any simple ordinary landscape into a festival of motion, light, and color!
You will learn:
• The basic concepts, history, and “dos and don’ts” of Pointillism,
• How to build up colors and detail in steps the Pointillism way,
• How to apply different brushstrokes to different areas of the painting,
• How to use simple color theory concepts to choose and combine colors in Pointillism,
• How to choose subject matter best suited for Pointillism paintings,
• How to adopt Pointillism concepts and techniques in other styles of painting.
This workshop will include painting demos, student work feedback sessions, slideshow presentations, and eye training exercises. This combination of activities is designed to help refine your painting techniques and observation skills. Photo references will be provided for all painting assignments. More experienced students can use their own references.

In person workshops will have extended painting sessions. During these sessions, students will get one-on-one mentoring from Wayne.
Online workshop students can attend class live via Zoom and will have access to download a video file of the painting demo to refer to so they can paint along at home at their own pace. There will be critiques at the beginning of some of the classes.
